I’m still fighting back tears thinking about Anna and Jared’s micro-wedding at Bridgeton House on the Delaware. This family was incredible. They chose to have a private wedding with just their kids, and the impact of that simplicity was just pure magic. If you are contemplating an elopement or an intimate wedding, this is your sign to just do it!
The Art of the Micro-Wedding
Bridgeton House on the Delaware is the ultimate spot for this kind of day. It’s got everything: private docks, lush gardens, historic architecture, and views right along the water. We did the formal portraits outside to take advantage of that Delaware River backdrop, and then we headed inside where the real magic happened.
The kids got gifts, they hung out on the couch, and they just enjoyed some cake together. These are the “perfect” documentary photos – unscripted, emotional, and exactly what a wedding should feel like. Seeing a friend officiate while the family stood together was one of my favorite memories in all my years in this industry.

Lean into the Documentary Style
Because this venue feels like a (very high-end) home, it’s the perfect place to let the “posed” stuff go. Once we get those beautiful outdoor portraits by the water, let’s head inside and just document the real moments. Those shots of you guys just “being” together are the ones you’ll cherish most.

Don’t just stick to one spot! The private dock is a must-have for portraits, but the garden paths and the architecture of the house itself offer so many different “looks” within a few steps of each other. It makes a micro-wedding gallery feel full and diverse.
