You want to talk about having a good time at your wedding? You need to read this stream of consciousness as we spill the story of Amanda and Mike’s wedding day at Avalon Golf Club.
Gosh, what to say about these two….really breathtaking day. The hair and makeup went something like 2 hours over time. We were supposed to have a first look…she was dressed and ready at 10 minutes before her ceremony. First look happened on the way to the ceremony. We all had a good laugh about it together actually, and it was still just as meaningful. Totally unplanned. It was just real and authentic. it just…happened.
Getting ready was filled with laughter. Jokes. Just hanging out with friends. “It’s okay, this is part of the day!”
They didn’t care about formalities. They just wanted to be married. It was truly…lovely.
Come time for the reception, and it’s freaking beautiful. They’re so in love. The way she looks at him…and the way he looks at her. They’re truly best friends in love with one another. When it came time for their portraits, they didn’t do one traditional pose or portrait. They acted like goofballs the entire time. And we just snapped away. Laughed in between shots with them. Did silly things, and then went inside to have the time of our lives. This one right here, is my favorite memory. The night ended, and i turned to Mark, my second shooter and said “man, I really didn’t want this one to end”. he said “me either.”
We truly do have the best lives and weddings like this are why we still LOVE weddings even after years of photographing them and hundreds under our belt!!
