Capturing you two in your element is MY biggest thrill. You bring the romance.
I'll bring the energy
Stepping into Sunnybrook Ballroom is like walking onto a legendary stage. Dating back to 1926, this historic Pottstown landmark rose to fame as a premier stop for the Big Band era, hosting legends like Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and Glenn Miller. Itโs one of the few remaining dance halls of its kind in the country, and you can still feel that high-spirited energy in every square foot of the wood dance floor.
As a preferred photographer at Sunnybrook, I love that this venue isn’t just a ballroom – itโs a piece of history that adds an undeniable layer of soul to your wedding day. Whether youโre having an intimate ceremony in the garden or a high-hype reception in the Great Ballroom, the texture and character here are unmatched.
Documenting a wedding at Sunnybrook requires a photographer who understands how to work with scale. The Grand Ballroom features the largest wooden dance floor east of the Mississippi, which is incredible for a massive party but requires a specific approach to lighting to keep the photos feeling warm and vibrant.
We focus on capturing the honest, unscripted moments against these iconic backdrops. From the Prohibition-era vibes of the speakeasy and Gatsbyโs Ballroom to the lush, natural grit of the Wedding Gardens, weโre here to ensure your gallery feels like a true preservation of your story.
The Grand Ballroomโs dance floor is the heartbeat of the venue. To capture the full energy of your reception, we utilize the balcony and mezzanine angles to show the scale of the party. Itโs the perfect spot for those high-motion, candid shots of your guests having the time of their lives.
The outdoor ceremony spaces at Sunnybrook are built on the grounds of what was originally a 1920s swimming club. The circular Wedding Garden provides a grounded, natural setting for your vows, surrounded by mature trees and stone paths. We recommend utilizing these garden nooks for your portraits to add a soft, organic contrast to the historic elegance of the ballroom.
Sunnybrook has some incredible hidden gems, like the Gatsby Ballroom and the Speakeasy, which feature 1920s-inspired lounge areas and dark wood accents. Because these spaces are moodier and more intimate, we use off-camera flash (OCF) as a standard. This is the only way to preserve the authentic, “Roaring 20s” ambience while ensuring your portraits remain crisp and full of life.
This day would have never come together the way it did for these two if it weren’t for the awesome team behind all the details! Here is a list of the vendors who took part of the day, and a link to their website if you want to go check them out!
Sunnybrook is a phenomenal choice, but Iโve spent years documenting weddings across the local landscape and compiled everything Iโve learned into one massive resource.
